Session Description

One of the most important skills our students need in the 21st century is the ability to communicate effectively. In addition, we know that learning should be social, where concepts are constructed in the students’ minds as often as possible. Creating these situations in a math classroom is often difficult but the flipped environment provides a perfect context for powerful discourse around mathematics to flourish. We will share (and get you involved in!) ways in which we leverage flipping to foster quality conversations and writing opportunities in math class from an elementary, middle, and high school perspective.
